Target Investments
Stevenson’s principal investing activities include funding later-stage management-led buyouts, strategic minority equity investments and recapitalizations of small-to-middle market companies with an enterprise value range of $25 million to $500 million.
We seek investment opportunities at attractive valuations in closely-held entities and specialize in buy-outs of divisions of larger companies that have become “non-core” due to their underperformance or as a result of a corporate reorganization.
Stevenson selectively participates in growth capital financings often in conjunction with other venture capital firms. These investments tend to be in very early stage companies that are pre-revenue, developing or launching a new product or service, or making an opportunistic acquisition.
We also concentrate on recapitalizations of closely-held businesses in order to provide additional financing for growth and consolidation strategies and/or liquidity for family members and existing investors.
It is our objective to devise a capital structure for each investment that balances profit potential and risk protection in conjunction with the prudent use of leverage. Stevenson typically commits between $5 million and $25 million in equity, mezzanine or a combination thereof to each investment. |
